Combining my passion for Coding and Medicine – Esmie
I am bold, strong and confident.
When I look at something and I really want it, I go for it. I always want to step out of my comfort zone. I am a go-getter. Also, I am inspired by women who despite their failures don’t give up.
I want to learn how to code because I want to touch the lives of young people. I want to motivate them.
I think I can go worldwide with coding and can impact other people’s lives! I recently learnt how to code using HTML and CSS.
At the moment, I have two careers in mind: a surgeon and a web designer.
With being a web designer, being part of TechOva has taken me to the next level as I now know the fundamentals of coding. I will register for some coding classes to further sharpen my skills.
Concerning being a surgeon, I applied to read Medicine at the University Of Ghana and will further specialize in neurosurgery. I applied to Russia School of Medicine which I have gained admission. I am currently working on a project where we donate blood to hospitals and it has already been funded. We are however still on the lookout for sponsorship opportunities.
Fun Fact: One thing I can’t do without in a day is texting. I can’t do without texting, I can’t do without my phone.
To answer the question on whether I will date a programmer, I will do so only if he does aerospace engineering as well as I have a thing for aerospace engineers.
Participating in TechOva was really timely as I found it very interesting and insightful. Prior to coming, I was really depressed due to losing at the National Science and Mathematics Quiz.
I actually run away from everyone and I became very shy. However, coming to this TechOva Summit has made me very bold. I really feel motivated and I will achieve greater heights.
Watch out for me!
